Great play by Pettis. He would have never been thrown the ball if he was only that open in our offense.

Pettis made a play on a vertical route downfield. It's almost like asking him to do stuff he's good at is how you use him.

Aiyuk, Deebo, Kittle, Reed, and even Bourne get open. Pettis didnt.

Shanahan kept him on the roster for 3 and a half years. Far too long for what he was showing. He got more than a fair shot.

Let's see how sustainable Pettis performance will be in the playoffs or next year. He's got potential, but needs to put it all together.

Sometimes you just need a change of scenery, especially with his dad's cancer diagnosis.
